Chetco Valley Museum is housed in the historic 1857 Blacke House in Brookings. Wonderful displays portray the history of this coastal community and the largest Monterey cypress in the US is on the grounds. Thurs - Sun noon to 4 with extended summer hours 15461 Museum Road, 469-6651
An unusual "attraction" for Brookings is the
Bomb Site Trail. This is the site of one of the two bombings of the Oregon Coast by the Japanese during WWII.

Run in beautiful Brookings Harbor is a championship 18 hole golf
course that boasts scenic views and as awesome as the course play.
The signature 4th hole shot measures 160 yards and plays
approximately 145 yards; as there is a 100 foot elevation drop.

East of Brookings is the beautiful Azalea State Park, a 36-acre park covered with Native azaleas, some over 300 years old. The kids will enjoy "KidTown" a huge fort, playground area.
Harris Beach
State Park, north of Brookings on 101, enjoy hiking trails, tide pools, waves crashing on the massive rocks,and all the activities for a day at the beach. Day use areas, campsites, yurts, full hookups including cable, showers and all the amenities, open year round.
Visit the northern most stand of redwoods at Loeb State Park by taking the Riverview Trail to the Redwood Nature Trail. In addition, this park is located in a beautiful 300 acre stand of old growth myrtlewoods against the Chetco River. 53 campsites, electric hookups, handicap site, full restroom facilities. From highway 101 take county road 784, (North Bank Road), to Forest Service road 1376.
