It's time once again for the Shore Acres Holiday Lights with 300,000 lights and animated displays. The Hughes House is fully decorated and open for cookies, chocolate and cider.  Nov 24 - Dec 31

Coos Bay International Speedway, 7 miles from Coos Bay on Hwy 42, hosts a variety of racing events plus a Pro Rodeo.  Call 267-4425 or 756-0718.

The Coos County Historical Museum has an early 20th century steam locomotive, Native American artifacts, and various pioneer exhibits plus a tribute to Olympic runner Steve Prefontaine. 541 756-6320

Coos Art Museum features a variety of exhibits in various mediums, traveling exhibits, and permanent print collection.  235 Anderson Open Tuesday - Saturday  Call 267-3901 for current exhibits.

Cape Arago State Park - You can take hiking trails along the top of the bluffs to see tidepools, marine mammals, and whale-watch. 

Sunset Bay State Park is a small, protected bay surrounded by picturesque cliffs and beautiful sunsets.  There is year-round camping, fishing, swimming, skin diving, and surfing.  From Sunset Bay State Park you can also view the Cape Arago Light

Bastendorff Beach Park is A Coos County park located 2 miles west of Charleston off the Cape Arago Hwy.  Beautiful park with beach access and coin operated binoculars for whale watching or just viewing the sea.  91 campsites; 56 RV sites, dump station, handicap accessible, showers, children's playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, $8.00 - $17.00, seasonal rates.  Great family park.
