Cape Perpetua is the highest point on the Oregon Coast and contains some of the most intriguing sites. Be sure and visit Devil's Churn and the Spouting Horn and hike some of the 23 miles of trails. The Alsea Bay Interpretive Center chronicles the history of Native American life at Alsea Bay, early pioneer settlement, ferry travel, modern road development, and bridge history. The center features the history of the Alsea Bay Bridge and pays tribute to Conde B.McCullough, whose beautifully designed bridges cross many rivers and bays on the Oregon Coast. Clamming and crabbing demonstrations are also available, call for times and locations. Waldport (541) 563-2002 The Kayak Shack offers kayak rentals and guided tours. Lint Slough, Drift Creek, Alsea Bay and Alsea River are a few of the scenic watertrails available to tour. Kayak Shack is operated by Waldport High School Youth Entrepreneurs – current and past students, with the assistance of community businesses and individuals. Alsea River offers record runs of salmon, steelhead and cutthroat, with access along Highway 34 from Waldport. Port of Alsea features public boating and crabbing facilities and Dock of the Bay Marina. Crestview Hills Golf Course is a pleasant 9 hole public golf course in coastal Waldport. Drift Creek Wilderness contains 5,800 acres of forested slopes and brushy, rough terrain. There are 7 1/2 acres of trails primarily used by hunters, hikers, and fishermen. Kozy Kove Dine on the river, literally at this unique, full-service floating restaurant and lounge on the beautiful Alsea River; just 9 1/2 miles east of Waldport, Oregon. 9464 Alsea River Hwy Reservations: 541-528-3251 Tillicum USFS campground From Waldport, OR, take US Rt. 101 south 3.6 miles to campground .
