Lompoc Museum displays the history of the Chumash Indians as well as other exhibits on the area.
The Jalama Beach County Park contains a small beach, but the campground is fairly large and set among 28 acres. Jalama draws anglers, surfers, and hikers. The trail to Point Conception retraces the route of Juan Bautista de Anza, who brought 250 colonists from Mexico through here in 1775-76.

Misión la Purísima Concepción de María Santísima is one of the most completely restored missions of the 21 Spanish missions in the state. The park contains the church, shops, quarters, springhouse, cemetery and gardens of this 1787 mission.
