The Elfin Forest Natural Area is a diverse complex of natural plant communities which supports 25 species of mammals, over 110 kinds of birds, and 11 species of reptiles and amphibians. 

Morro Rock stands at an elevation of 576 feet. First sighted by Juan Cabrillo in 1542, it was at one time surrounded by water.  It is now a protected home for the endangered Peregrine Falcon.

Morro Bay has a beautiful harbor sheltered by a sand spit that runs from Los Osos to Morro Bay.  This is a favorite recreation area for kayakers, surfers and just spending a day at the beach!

Montana de Oro State Park, 6 miles south, is a real treasure with 8,000 acres of cliffs, streams, canyons and sandy ocean beaches.  Primitive and equestrian campgrounds and miles of trails to explore.
