The Red Tile Walking Tour is a must for visitors to Santa Barbara.  The area features historic 19th century adobes as well as fine examples of Mission Revival architecture.  Enjoy free concerts at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, see the historic Lobero Theatre, and many more points of interest.

South Coast Railroad Museum is housed in the historic Goleta Depot, a two story SP depot built in 1901.  View a restored freight office & agents quarters, a bay window caboose, the impressive railroad model and lots more.  300 North Los Carneros Road, Goleta, (805) 964-3540, Wed - Sun, free

Santa Barbara Art Center Exhibits paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints and crafts by artists from throughout the state. 1010 Broad Street (805) 543-8562 Tues.-Sun. 11-5. free admission

Santa Barbara Museum of Art has developed a unique collection with emphasis on Asian, European and Contemporary American art.  Additional exhibits and programs throughout the year.  1130 State Street, (805) 963-4364, hours vary, fees

Santa Barbara County Historical Museum, originally a 1905 Carnegie Library, is an interesting architecural structure which houses the history of the Santa Barbara area.  Located next to the Mission at 696 Monterey Street (805) 543-0638 Open 10am-4pm, Wednesday - Sunday. Free admission.

Santa Barbara Maritime Museum - This fascinating museum has a variety of exhibits and activities to interest the whole family.  Exhibits vary from histories of the earliest Chumash Natives to the first seaplane to tours of shipwrecks.  Harbor Way

Karpeles Manuscript Library Museums - Quite unique and the largest private collection of the world's most important manuscripts.  A variety of manuscripts are on display as well as rotating exhibits.  21 West Anapamu Street, Mon - Fri, 9-4

Santa Barbara County maintains 25 parks with a host of activities available.  Horesback riding, surfing, swimming, or just walking on beautifully maintained beaches are all available at Santa Barbara parks.

Nojoqui Falls is just a short hike from this county park just north of Santa Barbara.  

El Chorro Regional Park 26 spaces with hookups, showers, first come, first served.  Eagle Rock Trail is a 2 miles hike and winds through oak woodlands and past Indian mortar holes.  6 miles north of Santa Barbara on Hwy 1.  (805) 781-5219

Machesna Mountain Located in the La Panza Mountain Range about 20 miles west of Santa Barbara, this 20,000 acre wilderness forest is a critical habitat for the California condor and home to deer, mountain lions and black bear. Hike American Canyon or to the top of Machesna Mountain for magnificent views.
