Fisher Poets Gathering brings poems, stories and songs from fishhing industry people, more than 70 presenters last year.  In its twelfth year, this is a Library of Congress Local Legacies project.  February 

The Astoria-Warrenton Crab and Seafood festival attracts nearly 20,000 visitors each year. Sample fresh shrimp, salmon, oysters, halibut, clam chowder and other delicacies, along with a beer garden and wines from more than 50 vineyards. Also enjoy the offerings of more than 200 regional artisans, live music and entertainment. April 24 - 26

Astoria Regatta is a weeklong extravaganza of parades, sailboat races, tours of historical homes, carnivals, demolition derbies and fireworks. Second weekend in August 

Silver Salmon Celebration Seafood delicacies, arts & crafts, kids activities, beer garden.  Buy fresh salmon right off the boats!  October  Stick around for the Great Columbia Crossing, the only time of year you can cross the bridge on foot!!  

Maritime Week has tours of the lightship Columbia, contests, demonstrations, and live entertainment. Third week in May

The River Theater presents original theater, concerts, readings and a variety of entertaining performances on Marine Drive

Shanghaied in Astoria, presented by the Astor Street Opry Company, invites the family to get involved, from boos to cheers and throwing popcorn at the villian.  Runs Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, July and August 

The Little Ballet Theatre, in Warrenton, received nationwide acclaim when the NBC Today television program featured the Little Ballet Theatre along with Mikhail Baryshnikov in a tribute to the Nutcracker Ballet.


FORT STEVENS – The Union Army built a base in Astoria to prevent Confederate ships from entering the Columbia River. It is now one of the largest Oregon State parks and features the state's largest campground, miles of trails and even a shipwreck of the Peter Iredale on the beach!  

Fort Clatsop National Monument is the location where Lewis & Clark wintered, on what would be the Oregon Coast, during their expedition of 1805.  A visitor's center, replica of the fort, and the canoe landing are located in this beautiful 125 acre park.  Summer re-enactments by park rangers. Take U.S. 101 to Bus 101, then follow the signs.

Tour Astoria on the restored 1913 Riverfront Trolly.  This tour passes along the Columbia River waterfront, museums and historic homes.  Only $1.00!  Contact the Chamber at (800) 875-6807

Astoria Children's Museum will delight your young child for hours.  Sail in the nautical area, be a storekeeper, create crafts in the creation station.  Call 325-8669 for schedule and current offerings.

Sea Captain George Flavel constructed Flavel House in 1885. It has six fireplaces that are all hand-carved mantels and tiles imported from Italy, Holland, Belgium and Algeria. 8th and Dune Streets Open daily 10 am-5 pm in summer; $4

The Columbia River Maritime Museum, Oregon's Official Maritime Museum, near 17th Street on the north side of waterfront Marine Drive.  Exhibits display nautical heritage of the Columbia River and northern coast year round. Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas.   Open daily 9:30 am-5pm

Astoria Column sits atop Astoria's highest hill, presenting a spectacular view of the historic city and the surrounding rivers, bay, forest, mountains, and ocean. Built in 1926, the Column is 125 feet high and has 164 steps winding to the top.
