Sandcastle Day in Cannon Beach attracts over 20,000 visitors. Over 1,000 participants have four hours to create their sand castle sculptures. Adults and children rush to claim their patch of sand to begin work on some of the most imaginative castles they can think of.  June 10    436-2623

The 46th Annual Dory Festival features a grand river boat parade during the third weekend of July.  The boat parade starts at 9:00 on Saturday followed by a street parade at 10:000.  Other events include Dory boat demos, a barn dance, bingo, fish fry, ice-cream social and much more.  Pacific City 965-3685

Fleet of Flowers Memorial Day Observance, in Depoe Bay is a stirring ceremony held each year since 1945.  The fleet of flower boats pass under the Highway 101 bridge, form a circle in the bay and cast their memorial wreaths onto the water.  At this moment a Coast Guard helicopter lowers its wreath into the center as military jets cross overhead, an awe-inspiring tribute to those who have lost their lives at sea. Newport Seafood & Wine Festival, last full weekend in February, One of the largest seafood & wine festivals in the US, featuring most of Oregon's nearly 100 wineries; exotic dishes as calimari, eel, and abalone;  fine arts and crafts ranging from framed exotic fish prints to oceanscape paintings, and live entertainment during the three day festival.

Yachats Smelt Fry and Yachats Music festival. DuneFest, has quickly become one of the premiere dune events in the nation.  This 5-day event draws thousands of ATV enthusiasts to Winchester Bay for bike racing and climbing, ASDA sanctioned drag racing and more. Crab Bounty Hunt  Crabbing is always great fun and the crab is a tasty reward, but during the month of August in Winchester Bay, a whopping $10,000 makes crabbing VERY rewarding.  Crab are tagged with metal tags and the tags are placed in a $5,000 drawing.  Catch the renegade crab, Captain Umpclaw, and get another $5,000.
