Gold Beach is the wondrous area where the Rogue meets the sea; made famous by Zane Grey's writings.  Whether exploring the beaches, old growth forests, or the wild and scenic Rogue; you'll find great adventures in the Gold Beach area.

For a beautiful drive through Oregon's rugged wilderness, drive from Gold Beach to Agness along the Rogue River.  The Oregon coastline is unsurpassed, but you'll also find gorgeous scenic vistas on the roads inland.

For an even more scenic view of the Rogue, a ride on the historic Mail Boat is a must for the Oregon Coast visitor.   The Original Mail Boats have been delivering U.S. mail to Agness since 1895.

Curry County Historical Museum in Gold Beach contains a replica of a country store and a miner's cabin in addition to its many pioneer, Indian, logging, and shipping displays.  29410 S. Ellensburg Ave.  541-247-6113

Windsurfing is big on this part of the Oregon Coast and you'll usually find brightly colored sails dotting the ocean or at nearby Pistol River & Floras Lake.  Get current windspeeds at 

The best camping around Gold Beach is on Forest Service Road 33 on the Rogue River.  Several campsites to choose from, dump station at Quosatana.  Also on this road is the Schrader Old Growth Trail, a 1 mile loop through some of the oldest Douglas firs and hardwoods in the northwest.   Check out all the great recreation opportunites on the Siskiyou Nat Forest.
