Tenmile Lakes Day Use Area includes boat ramps, docks, picnic tables, fish cleaning stand, four horseshoe courts, and a swimming/wading area. Tenmile Lakes hosts a variety of fisheries; salmon, steelhead, large mouth bass, trout, crappie, blue gill, catfish, and occasionally, hybrid bass. Salmon and steelhead also use Tenmile Creek for spawning, creating superb spring and fall runs. The tallest of the Oregon Dunes can be reached from the
Umpqua Dunes Trailhead just across 101 from Tenmile Lakes.. Climb the tall dune at the halfway point of the interpretive loop for an incredible view of tree islands, open sand, high dunes, and the distant ocean. This area is closed to Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs).
Eel Creek Campground, across Hwy 101 from Tenmile, offers the best of the Oregon coast. Great fishing and swimming at Lakeside and dunes access with 52 campgrounds to choose from. Situated on Eel Lake near Lakeside, Tugman State Park offers 115 campsites tucked away in a mature stand of shore pines with a trail around the south end of the lake for leisurely hikes. Outstanding for fishing, swimming, canoeing, sailing and boating. Salmon Harbor, just north of Lakeside at Winchester Bay, is one of the largest sport-boat marinas on the Oregon coast.
