The Port of Tillamook Bay is home to the Blimp Hangar museum and Oregon Coast Explorer Scenic Railroad.  With the 52-space RV Park, and soon to be added PGA tournament class 18-hole golf course and convention hotel, the Port will soon become a featured destination on the north coast.

Blimp Hangar Museum - In 1942, the U.S. Navy began construction of 17 wooden hangars to house the K-class blimps being used for anti-submarine coast patrol and convoy escort. Hangar B, built at the Naval Air Station Tilllamook, still stands with a large collection of vintage aircraft on display.

Tillamook Forest Center the region’s newest interpretive and educational center showcases the legacy of the historic Tillamook Burn. The forest-based learning center features interpretive trails, free educational programs, a climbable 40-foot tall replica of a forest fire lookout tower and a dramatic 250-foot-long pedestrian suspension bridge.

Tillamook County Museum   Established in 1935, the museum houses a quilt room, doll and toy room, sheriff's vault, Victorian parlor, Tillamook Indian artifacts, stagecoach, blacksmith's shop, steam logging donkey and much more.  2106 Second Street  842-4553

A visit to the Oregon Coast just isn't complete without a tour of Tillamook's famous cheese factories. Tour the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Blue Heron French Cheese Co. where you can sample Blue Heron's Brie, Oregon coast wines, mustards, jams and gourmet delicacies in its converted 1927 barn. Includes directions.

The Cape Meares Light, built in 1890 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.  It is the farthest north of the Oregon lighthouses, sitting atop a 200 foot cliff just south of Tillamook Bay adjacent to Cape Meares State Park.  Walk right down to the lighthouse, it is quickly accessible on an asphalt path.

Cape Lookout State Park  includes beachside facilities and scenic trail to tip of headland. Campground near the beach open year-round.  A short 1/4 mile nature trail passes 16 stations with explanations of coastal rain forest vegetation.  The longer Cape Trail is a 2.5 mile trek to the tip of Cape Lookout with a vista from Tillamook Head.

Oceanside Beach is a popular day use park and a great place to beachcomb and explore tide pools.  West of Tillamook, access is free.

Munson Creek Falls is the tallest falls on the Oregon Coast at a height of 319 feet.  Trails to the falls wind through ancient forests and the world's second tallest Sitka spruce.
