In the 1891 City Hall, the Jefferson County Historical Society Museum, houses intricate Indian baskets, a Victorian bedroom, and even two buffalo-horn and bearskin chairs. Outstanding resource.
Fort Worden State Park contains an array of sites including the Coast Artillery Museum, Rothschild House, the Marine Science Center, Point Wilson Lighthouse and more.
The Marine Science Center will be even more informative as they expand both their Natural History Building and Marine Lab & Aquarium. A variety of programs are also available.
The Rothschild House was built in 1868 and is nearly unchanged from 100 years ago. Inhabited only by Rothschilds, this house is an amazing display of late 1800's life. 10 - 5 April-Oct., weekends 10 - 5 Nov.
The Manresa Castle is an 1892 mansion at 7th and Sheridan was built by Port Townsend's first mayor, Charles Eisenbeis. Having made a fortune supplying bread and crackers for ships, he built his home in the style of a medieval European castle. Tours are free.
Easily the most opulent Victorian structure in Port Townsend, the Ann Starrett Mansion is a National Historic Landmark and a favorite B&B. Take a tour or stay here to enjoy the luxury up close.
